Lost In Atlantis

Let me get this out of my system ahead of time: Paramore.

Lost In Atlantis is a great band out of Phoenix, who define themselves as "Rocktronica." If you ask me, definitely worth a listen. In all honesty, I'm torn between throwing myself down at their feet and boycotting them for the rest of my life. As you're listening there's no doubt that it's all been done before. But does that really make it bad? Everything has been done before, and if it hasn't then there is not a very good chance that it will take off. Lost In Atlantis brings in some really unique aspects to the very mainstream sound, and that's all you really need. You can tell they work hard for their sound, it definitely has creativity, and it obviously sounds good. Really all this tells me is that Lost In Atlantis could very well be the next Arizona band to go national.

Make sure to "Like" them on Facebook!

Born Loser And The Hangers On - Bringing Back Real Indie-Rock

If you were to play "The Mosquito Song" by Born Loser And The Hangers On (their friends call them BLATHO) to a kid, they would say they've never heard anything like it. If you were to play the same song for the 50 year old sound tech at a bar, they would say it's been a long time since they've heard anything like it.

With a style that seems to blend a 90's Madonna with an 80's Tina Turner and a sprinkle of Janis Joplin, you kind of wonder why all you can think of is Florence And The Machine/Dave Matthews. The only thing you can be certain of is that you kinda like it. The second time you listen to it you like it a bit more, the third time even more, and so on. Eventually all you can do is hunt them down at one of their shows, buy a hand-doodled CD and home-made band tee, and hope to hang out with them. Chillest people ever.

They just released a "name-your-price" EP on their website. Donate a few bucks or snatch it for free, just know ahead of time that you WILL become one of those screaming die-hard fan groupies.
